Process Improvement
Manufacturing Process Improvement involves the analysis and optimization of production operations to achieve more efficient production, reduce waste, improve quality, and maximize value. This involves utilizing experimental, analytical, and numerical techniques to gain a fundamental understanding of the manufacturing process design in order to optimize existing processes and accelerate the development of new ones. Our investigative approach involves characterization and management of process-induced properties and defects using predictive models. This includes the following methods:
- Physical modeling of processes that uses: full-scale experiments, model material simulation, and prototypes.
- Computer-based modeling of processes that uses high performance computation, analytical methods, and numerical models and optimization.
